As part of the Russian Energy Week International Forum, the Roscongress Foundation is holding an online conference in partnership with EY. The event will focus on energy companies ability to withstand the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As COVID-19 spreads, could a crisis hit energy companies? What can be done to manage growing shortfalls?
These issues will come under the spotlight in Business: Instructions for Survival. The online conference will take place on Friday, 17 April on the Roscongress Foundations online platforms. The event will be streamed on the Roscongress TV YouTube channel, and the Roscongress Foundations official Facebook page. It will begin at 13:00 Moscow time.
Despite being affected by the spread of the coronavirus, electric power companies are continuing to provide stable and reliable heat and energy supplies to industry and the public. However, the number of consumers who find themselves unable to pay could feasibly increase sharply. Energy industry associations are concerned that a moratorium on issuing penalties will be destructive for the entire energy industry, and create a rupture in the generation-to-supply calculation chain. What can be done to overcome growing shortfalls?
