On 26 July 2016, Alexander Krutikov, Director of the Department for the Delivery of Investment Projects at the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, and Igor Pavlov, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Eastern Economic Forum, unveiled a series of promising Russian and foreign investment projects scheduled for presentation at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) 2016. There was a special focus on the core topics which will feature on the business programme of the upcoming Forum.

“The Eastern Economic Forum is a fully-fledged component of the Russian Far East development agenda. The event will include a presentation on the changes that have occurred in the region since EEF 2015. Thanks to the implementation of new development mechanisms, the region has attracted over RUB 1.1 billion in private investment over the past year. This figure represents real production facilities, some of which will be opened at the Forum. All in all, 111 investment projects will be presented”, Alexander Krutikov said.

The advantages of the new mechanisms employed to develop the Russian Far East are already being exploited by investors from China, Japan, Australia, Kazakhstan, and Singapore. It was noted at the meeting that the participation of delegations from Asia-Pacific countries in the Forum would contribute to the joint development of mutually beneficial tools for cooperation in the Russian Far East.

The meeting also saw the announcement of the key events on the EEF 2016 cultural programme.

“In Vladivostok, everything is set for an event of the highest calibre”, Igor Pavlov remarked.
