The Roscongress Foundation – a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and sporting, public, and cultural events.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 2,500 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 122 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 69 countries worldwide.

Cooperation between Russia and Africa needs to be targeted

The Russia—Africa Summit and Economic Forum, held in Sochi in 2019, broke new ground in international relations. Russia considers cooperation with African countries to be a foreign policy priority. Russian businesses are actively making their way to prospective markets. Logically, the African track has made it to the agendas of the Roscongress Foundation’s largest events and will be discussed in June at the upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Director of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dr. Sc. (Econ) Irina Abramova discusses the measures that should be undertaken for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Moscow and Morocco to work together

The agreements reached at the Russia—Africa Summit and Economic Forum continue to develop in practical ways at the regional level. In December, a delegation from the Moscow Government and the Russian capital’s business community visited Morocco, one of Russia’s main trade and economic partners in Africa. CEO of the ANO Center for the Development of Business Competencies Oleg Gurov took part in the trip and talks about its results.
